Entertainment, cars, TV shows, job and property for rent were the major drivers for online traffic in August 2020. This is evident as the sites that saw the biggest increases in online traffic during August delivered quality content around, automotive news, lifestyle, TV shows, general entertainment and music. On a classified perspective, there was an increase in searches for new Jobs, property for rent and cars. This comes as people begin to restructure their lives post the Covid-19 pandemic.
Top 10 Websites
Good growth was experienced in page views across a few of the top ten sites. Overall the sites which experienced good growth in traffic saw success in topics of entertainment, motoring news as well as an increase in searches for jobs, cars for sale and property for rent.
Top 10 interest audiences
Traffic across the different Interest segments stayed relatively stable month on month with notable changes in page views for in Personal Finance content and an increase in Sports content. This comes as lockdown regulations ease and Sport begins to open up again and as people are now more adjusted to their personal financial realty post the Covid-19 pandemic.
Top 10 Apps
We saw a new entry into the Narratiive eco-system and into the top ten Apps in the form of Moya Messenger. This App was recently tagged and within its first month of measuring with Narratiive has shot to first place on the App list. Traffic to D6 school communicator declined month on month as the rush around new school calendars and dates eased.
Top 10 month on month % change
Food for Mzansi is a new site that was recently tagged and as a result, sits in top place on the biggest movers. Sites like Channel24, AfricaMagic, MzansiMagic all experienced good growth on the back of new TV shows like Idols and Big Brother Nigeria. There was also an increased interest in lifestyle, music and entertainment boosting sites like PlayInc, MyMuze and IndianSpice.
