Your trust and confidence is important to us. Narratiive (“we” “us” “our”) conducts business under the principles disclosed in this Privacy and Personal Information Policy (“policy”). If you do not agree with anything in this policy, you may not complete any survey and must immediately opt out of any services we offer. You may not participate in our survey(s) or access any of our services if you are younger than 18 years old, or do not have the legal capacity to conclude legally binding contracts. By completing a survey or accessing our services, you have accepted this policy. You are deemed to have read, understood, accepted, and agreed to be bound by all of its terms.

Narratiive acts as an agent for our customers

Narratiive acts as an Agent for each of its customers, in that it provides its services primarily for the benefit of the customer. Each of our customers uses Narratiive to understand more about the visitors to its websites; in this way, our customers can provide online advertisers with third-party independent statistics that help demonstrate their site audience. This information may include search engine referral, affiliate referrals, traffic driven by banner ads or other online promotions, how visitors navigate around the site, and the most popular websites or sections. We also collect certain technical information, such as information relating to a browser version and operating system. We aggregate all of the usage information from our customer’s websites into a benchmarking solution that demonstrates their metrics to advertisers and other interested parties. We do, however, reserve a limited right to disclose any information we collect if required by law or valid order of a court or other governmental authority. We also reserve the right to disclose any information to third parties. However, such disclosures will take place with discretion that is commensurate to the sensitivity of that information. We generally collect anonymous usage information from websites that are registered on our system. These websites participate in Narratiive by placing a small piece of tracking code on each of their web pages.

Use by clients

We ask each of our customers to abide by all applicable laws, rules and regulations, as we promise our customers that we will do it ourselves. We try to ensure our customers are fully compliant with all applicable laws by concluding a Processing Agreement with them. We also recommend that each customer obtain all necessary consents from visitors to its website (s), post an online privacy policy that provides each visitor with notice of its information collection and use practices (including the customer’s use of Narratiive), and provide a link to the Narratiive privacy policy.

Collected information

In providing Narratiive’s services to its customers, it is Narratiive’s policy to use digital identifiers to power more accurate traffic analysis:

Pixels and Web beacons: JavaScript code lines and snippets, transparent images or iFrames.

Probabilistic identifiers: method of device identification based on the conjunction of certain characteristics – such as IP address hashes and screen resolution – that can reasonably be inferred as unique in an aggregation.

Cookies: small text files that receive and store strings of characters coming from computers, phones, tablets and other connected devices to identify specific internet browsers.

Non-cookie-based identifiers: other types of identifiers, such as the ones stored on web browsers cache, local storage and identifiers associated with specific devices.

Surveys: online forms made available to you, once accessing specific pages on websites with PressPass enabled by the respective publisher or site owner.

The combination of information stored in those identifiers does not include personal information such as name, age, phone number, e-mail address or mailing address. Narratiive customers use tracking codes provided by Narratiive to track information about their sites and apps visitors’ activity. This code contacts Narratiive’s servers and receives a response. From time to time we may also administer random interactive pop-up surveys to some users of our customer’s Web sites while they are visiting those websites. These surveys collect additional information. Your participation in a survey is always voluntary, and you, therefore, have a choice as to whether or not to provide the requested survey information. We use the information collected in the survey, in conjunction with information gathered through our identifiers, in order to provide our customers with an even more detailed understanding of their Internet audience. In some limited circumstances, some voluntarily provided personal information may be captured.

Use of information

We use the information you provide to us and based on your choices, to:

  • Provide measurement and analytical services
  • Conduct customer feedback, product research and development
  • Perform audience profiling, data modeling and aggregation
  • Support targeted advertising
  • Run commercial surveys and consolidate insights for brands

Security

We protect your information in the manner specified in this policy. Generally, we use computer safeguards such as firewalls and data encryption to protect personal information and we enforce physical access controls to our buildings and files. We authorize access to personal information only for those employees who require it to fulfill their job responsibilities. Our hosting companies will host our website and related measurement services in a secure server environment that uses a firewall and other advanced security measures to prevent interference or access from outside intruders. We will try to keep the personal information we collect as accurate, complete and up to date as is necessary for the purposes explicitly defined in this policy. From time to time we will request you to update your personal information. You are able to review or update any personal information that we hold on you by accessing your account by emailing us or by phoning us. Please note that in order to better protect you and safeguard your personal information, we take steps to verify your identity before granting you access to your account or making any corrections to your personal information.

Opting-out

As a visitor to any of our customers’ sites, you can deactivate our customers’ abilities to analyze your web browsing behavior, which will universally deactivate this ability on all customer sites (including the Narratiive websites) currently using our services. To opt-out of receiving tracking cookies for all sites using Narratiive, you will need to accept a cookie indicating your choice to do so. Alternatively, browser extensions to suppress most measurement and ad tracking will usually opt you out of Narratiive and this method is recommended for those who delete their cookies but wish to remain opted out from our data collection services. We will try to comply with your request(s) as soon as reasonably practicable. Please note that if you opt out as described above, we will not be able to remove your personal information from the databases of our affiliates with which we have already shared it.

Collection and use of Personal Information

Narratiive collects anonymous, aggregate statistics. For example, we do not tie a specific visit to a specific IP address. You can browse customer website (s) without giving us any personal information. We use our own surveys and customers to analyze traffic in order to understand our customers’ and visitors’ needs and to continually improve our site for them. Disclosure of Personal Information

In some instances, we rely on our channel partners to fulfill product trials and information requests and provide customers and prospective customers with information about Narratiive and its solutions. To do this, we may pass your information to them for that purpose and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose. We sometimes hire vendor companies to provide limited services on our behalf, including packaging, mailing and delivering items, sending postal mail, providing technical support, and processing event registrations. In addition, we may use third-party information or technology in our products and disclose customer information to such third parties solely for the purposes of fulfillment, support, or audit by such third parties. We may also license/transfer or sell off our technology to third parties, and in connection with such transitions, we may disclose customer information to the transferee. Retention period

We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy unless a longer retention period is required or allowed by law.

Information transfer

Information collected by us and our partners may be stored and processed in countries different to its origin following the applicable items of this policy.

These transfers help to improve the quality of our services and do not differ on the protection levels offered to your information, as we use standard contract clauses globally. It is important to note though, that information transmitted using the internet still offers risks, therefore by the terms on this policy, you acknowledge and agree that incidents resulting in unauthorized use or handling of your information, shall not be deemed our responsibility beyond the extent we are required to accept by applicable law.

Information sharing

Narratiive operates by abiding and supporting to improve industry standards in privacy and consent, therefore information sharing only happens with other parties that have a clear established relationship with the user:

Publishers: Entities who own sites and apps where you have demonstrated, consented and interacted with

Brands, Advertisers and Marketers: entities who commissioned commercial surveys

Advertising and Marketing Technology providers: third parties operating with expressed authorization from publishers such as Ad Servers, Data Management Platforms (DMPs), Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), Demand Side Platforms (DSPs), Supply Side Platforms (SSPs), Ad Networks, Email Marketing, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, Web Analytics platforms and other similar technologies.

Other Technology providers: third parties operating with expressed authorization from publishers such as hosting, infrastructure, Content Management Systems (CMSs) and other similar technologies.

We may also disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary in connection with a sale, merger, transfer, exchange or other disposition (whether of assets, stock or otherwise) of all or a portion of our business and/or the business of our subsidiaries or to:

  • conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process served on us
  • protect and defend our rights and property
  • enforce our agreements with you
  • act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety or the public

Employees

We may need to disclose personal information to our employees that require personal information to do their jobs.

Successors

If we undergo a change in ownership, or a merger with, acquisition by, or sale of assets to, another entity, we may assign our rights to the personal information we process to a successor, purchaser, or separate entity. We will disclose the transfer on the website. If you are concerned about your personal information migrating to a new owner, you may request us to delete your personal information.
